Chicago Terminal and City of Chicago are in negotiation to turn what is left of the rail to a trail. Here is the link: https://www.stb.gov/filings/all.nsf/ba7f93537688b8e5852573210004b318/2b35e86915113ca1852582350063f922?OpenDocument

Well, it was a nice run, everybody. I first stumbled across the line as a student at DePaul back in 1992.

Thanks for helping me learn more about it. I even managed to get some pictures of one of the last runs to Peerless, thanks to you all.

I have been following this line since the 1950's. My parents had friends living on Lakewood and I used to see the trains. When I was a teenager we used to hike along the railroad tracks from Wrigley Field to my friends grandmother on Seminary who would make us homemade pizza following a Cubs game. I posted some pics. at http://www.pbase.com/gordg3/chicago_terminal_railroad Sorry to see this line come to an end.

Nice job of thoroughly documenting this trackage in transition.  It's amazing that the business collapsed so quickly after Chicago Terminal took over operations in January of 2007.

I agree, nice job documenting this. That goes for all of you.
