Chicago Terminal Locomotive Missing from North Avenue Yard
« on: July 01, 2017, 04:57:45 PM »
I noticed Tuesday that the Chicago Terminal switcher was no longer in the North Avenue Yard.  The rails leading from the yard to the connection to the Bloomingdale Line looked like they had been used recently but the bridge over the river was open.  Does anyone know if the crew was doing some switching east of the river that day?  The tracks looked very weedy on the Bloomingdale line as viewed from the Metra tracks.

In an earlier thread "The Chicago Terminal Shrinking" I said that I found the SW8 behind the Lakin building that is on the South Side of of Cortland.  This was almost a month ago and I'm not sure if it is still there.
