General comment here, not necessarily about this photo-

I always wonder why manufacturers of model railroad equipment cannot get people right in any scale.  They have no problem with incredibly detailed railroad equipment, cars, buildings, etc. but for whatever reason faces in particular never look realistic, proportions are off on the body itself, etc.

Agreed - I think the fellow in this scene is decent (from one of the Woodland Scenics collections that it seems all modelers use), but the face is not great.  It helps to dot the eyeballs with black paint but I can barely hold my hand steady enough for this..
